The Firefighters Prayer........
When duty call's me, oh Lord, my partner,
When flames do their destructive work,
Give me strength to save lives
And, above all, keep my courage bright.
With you will I reach, before it's too late,
The injured child, the helpless old person,
With your generosity, may I be able
To spare them the horror of such an end.
Since I must always be alert,
I pray thee, oh Lord, guide my every move,
And in the infernal tumult of the fire
Let me hear the feeblest cry.
I will glory in the fulfillment of my destiny,
For is not life-saving the most noble calling?
When the storm is over and all have returned home,
Then will I be proud to have helped my neighbor.
If it should happen, by thy will,
That I must give my life,
I pray thee, protect my family
And bless this firefighter who is yours.

This poem is on here for the family members of all the brave firefighters who put their lives on the line every day.
When the signal goes off, and he's needed to fight,
he responds without fear, knowing danger's in sight.
Whatever the order his dispatcher cries out,
as he turns on his flasher, I can hear him shout:
"Gotta run doll, no time for good-bye";
Oh I pray, dear God, please watch over my guy.
He's gentle and loving, he's strong and brave,
and forever in training, for that life may save.
Men, women, child, and animals too,
know he will help them, or it could even be YOU!

There are times I complain, as most gals will do,
but soon feel guilty knowing all he's been through.
I respect him, I need him, but will share all,
'cause he knows that I LOVE HIM, when duty does call.
I'll always stand by him, even help him when I can,
For he's one of GOD'S CHOSEN-He's my FIREMAN.

Sorry if we woke you in the middle of the night
But someone in your neighborhood is fighting for his life.
Sorry if we block the road and make you turn around,
But there's been a bad wreck with dying children on the ground.
When you see us coming you'll understand
Let us have the right-of-way - someone needs a helping hand
Sometimes a child is choking, sometimes a broken leg.
Sometimes a heart stops beating, and when we get there it's too late.
So if you see us crying when we think we're alone
You'll know we had a "bad" one and we're feeling mighty down.
We don't do it for the money -- you know we don't get paid.
We don't do it for the glory but for a life that might be saved.
Somewhere deep within us our souls are crying out
"We're here to help our neighbors in their hour of pain and doubt."
God gave us something special to help us see you through
We do it 'cause we love you, and we care about you too
